Michael T. Flaherty

Michael Flaherty is the founder and President of L5 Investments. L5 provides its partners with short term cash flow returns and long-term capital appreciation via the ownership, repositioning and management of apartment communities in U.S. markets of growth and stability. Mike has bought and sold over $1.5B of multifamily properties since 2009, totaling over 7,000 units. His focus is on well located, yield driven assets with value-add potential via both physical and operational repositioning opportunities. His current portfolio of 7,300 units across 7 states and 13 cities is valued at $1.3B. Mike actively participates in all acquisitions and management of L5 assets.

Throughout his career Mike has been involved in the ownership, development, and entitlement of over 200+ nationwide commercial and residential properties valued at over $3B – including multifamily, resort, hospitality, office, retail, and large master planned residential communities. He has worked internationally and domestically for Lend Lease, British Petroleum and Toll Brothers. His niche and focus has always been on providing investors with exceptional returns thorough detailed due diligence, market analysis and entitlements on value-add opportunities with strong access to employment centers, mass transit and convenient retail alternatives.

Mike earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Villanova University and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He is a current Board of Trustee for Rescue Union School District and Chairman of the Board for Kids Helping Kids Sacramento, a non-profit developing leadership through youth-led service for children in need, locally and globally.
