Michael Flaherty is the Founder and Managing Partner of L5 Real Estate Investments. Throughout his career, Mike has been involved in the ownership, development and entitlements of more than 200 commercial and residential properties nationwide, valued at over $1 billion – including multi-family, resort, hospitality, office, retail and large master-planned residential communities.
He has worked internationally and domestically for Lend Lease, British Petroleum and Toll Brothers. His passion for multi-family investment performance is based on his niche for detailed due diligence, market analysis and acquisition of value-add opportunities. Mike actively participates in all acquisitions and management of L5 assets.
Prior to founding L5, Mike was a Partner with Cardinal Real Investments, where the focus was on the astute repositioning and development of residential and commercial real estate in Los Angeles and New York City. This included the repositioning of a $29 million office building and an $18 million mixed-use development.
Mike also managed British Petroleum’s (BP) zoning and real estate development platform for Bovis Lend Lease, one of the world’s largest real estate development, project management, and construction companies. Over a five-year period, his platform included 50 retail projects and BP’s national hydrogen retail development plan. This included the first U.S. retail-designed hydrogen fueling facility at Los Angeles International Airport. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger inaugurated the site with Mike, who was awarded the 2004 Excellence Award for his leadership.
Prior to Mike’s work in the multi-family and commercial real estate industry, he managed numerous high-volume residential and master-planned developments for Toll Brothers, Inc., the nation’s largest developer and builder of luxury homes. One of his projects, Uwchlan Woods, was awarded Community of the Year by the U.S. Home Builders Association.
Mike earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Villanova University and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He is a current Board Advisor and prior Board Member for Mychal’s Learning Place, a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for adults and children with developmental disabilities to promote and develop independence.

Derek S. Graham is a respected 29 year veteran of the commercial real estate industry. He is also the Founder of Odyssey Properties Group. His focus continues to be on the acquisition and operational performance of multi-family and commercial properties nationwide. His passion and track record stems from his focus on the delivery of stable cash flows with long term capital appreciation for his investors.
Derek’s partnerships have purchased and own approximately $250,000,000 in investment properties across multiple product types (multifamily, senior housing, industrial and office). This includes, at a minimum, approximately 2,100+ housing units, 1 million SF of industrial space (warehouse, refrigerated and freezer storage, distribution, flex), and 130,000 SF of office space.
Derek’s background includes 28 years of commercial brokerage experience at three national firms (12 years as an Executive Managing Director at Savills-Studley, 14 years at CB Richard Ellis, and two years at Insignia/ESG).

Renee Luckhardt is responsible for the monthly asset management reporting process, which includes financial analysis, real estate due diligence on the competitors/submarkets, budgets and renovation tracking. She has over 24 years of experience in the commercial real estate and residential property industry. She spent the last 10 years provide accounting and asset management services for a large privately held multi-family fund.
Ms. Luckhardt holds a BBA from Eastern Michigan University in Accounting Information Systems.
